Morning Tour of Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Breakfast
A great way to start your morning! Go to Kyoto’s popular Kiyomizu-dera temple before it gets busy.
Kiyomizu Temple → Traditional Breakfast
We’ll begin at the break of dawn, and get into the spectacular Kiyomizu temple. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a long history – Kiyomizu temple was founded in the year 778.
The name Kiyomizu (清水寺) means clear or pure water, and true to its name, you can sample the water here. The water pours out of the mountain side in three streams which are said to have wish-granting powers for academic achievement, success in love, and longevity. As the temple was built on the side of a mountain, it offers some of the best views of Kyoto city.
Afterwards, we’ll head to a traditional restaurant to enjoy a Japanese-style breakfast. Traditional breakfasts often include: rice, fish, miso soup and pickles. If you have any food allergies, please include this in the booking inquiry below.
